Most mattresses are designed to last 5-7 years. If it's been a few years since you bought your mattress, you need to ask yourself if you are sleeping comfortably and still waking up refreshed. If you are waking up tired with back and neck pains even after a full night's sleep, chances are your mattress is losing its support and needs a replacement. Some of the obvious signs are lumps and sagging in the middle. You can improve your mattress's support considerably by rotating your mattress (top to bottom) periodically. We recommend rotating mattresses every 6 months to even out the wear. Our mattress specialists can help you find your perfect mattress via online chat, phone call or during one-on-one consultation in our stores.
Do I need to flip my mattress?
Most modern mattresses are designed single-sided to better provide lasting comfort and don't require flipping, only rotating. Older, double-sided mattresses should be rotated regularly. Flipping a mattress means turning it over so you can use both sides of the mattress. Flipping prevents steel coils on innerspring mattresses from wearing out prematurely and avoid sagging. Most double-sided, innerspring mattresses should be rotated every 3 months to allow an even distribution of weight across both sides of the mattress.
