Frequently Asked Questions

How do I pick the right size mattress?

Mattress size is determined by the size of the bed. A bed would look beautiful if it has a perfect sized mattress placed on top of it. So the most important thing is to measure your bed correctly. Beds come in different sizes like twin, twin XL, full, queen, king and cal king sizes and your mattress should be sized accordingly. Other things that would determine the mattress or bed size are the height of the person and the number of people sleeping on the mattress. Taller people need extra length so should look for twin XL or cal king sizes, whereas wider people should look for full or queen sized mattresses.

Depending on whether mattress would need to accommodate a solo sleeper or a couple with pet or a child, you should pick from queen or a king sized & mattress. Finally & the mattress and bed sizes should complement the room size and you should have enough space to move around the bed.

Is there a mattress smaller than a twin?

A single mattress is slightly smaller than a twin sized bed at 30”x75” and is more suited for toddlers and young children transitioning out of the cribs. However, if you are looking at long term, go for a twin size, as kids will eventually outgrow single mattress size whereas twin sized mattresses can accommodate even teenagers.

How much bigger should a bed frame be than the mattress?

A bed frame should be atleast 2 – 5 inches bigger than your mattress on each side. This extra space will allow for the bed’s frame & structure to fit properly with mattress or storage features like drawers and shelves. This extra space can also allow for the adjustable bases to be added to your mattress for that extra comfort.
