Before you even get out of bed in the morning, think about something for which you’re truly grateful. Immerse yourself in this feeling, closing your eyes and being completely present in your gratitude. Some people even like to take it a step further, writing down three things positive things in a journal each morning in order to start the day from a place of peace and contentment.

When you open your eyes, smile! A smile can make your mind feel happier, and when you smile, your body releases feel-good endorphins and serotonin. Next, take a few deep breaths to help boost your mood, promote feelings of calm, and relieve stress. Stretch each extremity for 15 seconds, and you’ll limber up your muscles and joints. This enhances blood flow throughout your body and sends extra oxygen to all your tissues.

Start Your Morning with Something Pleasant

Read or listen to something inspirational, play some of your favorite music, and maybe even dance! Connect with people you love, sit outside in the sunshine, take a walk, or meditate. Start your day on a happy note!
