The Long Beach uses a 532 continuous posturized heat tempered spring unit. This gives you more working wire in the middle for better back support. The continuous 12 3/4 gauge wire is placed in the mattresses from head to toe configuration to reduce motion between the two partners. The spring unit has heavier wire and more steel in the center two thirds to prevent mattresses from sagging. The foam encasement and a heavy steel rod, around the edge of the mattress, gives you edge to edge sleeping surface. This also prevents edge break down.
